BACHMANN AND MARRIAGE EQUALITY: Ben Smith draws attention to an article in The Washington Post regarding Michele Bachmann's record on gay marriage, as well as the mutual conservatism shared between her and her husband.

QUOTE OF THE DAY II: "In an interview last year with a Christian-radio talk show, Marcus Bachmann, a therapist who runs a faith-infused counseling center here, compared homosexuals to 'barbarians' who 'need to be educated, need to be disciplined.'"

Oh, dear. This is not a good look for the Bachmann campaign, particularly given the latest wave of interest in marriage equality on both sides of the political spectrum. It is important to note, also, that Republican support was instrumental in the success of marriage equality legislation in New York, and Bachmann's failure to provide support puts her in an awkward position; and, let's face it, her husband's opinions aren't exactly balanced - they're repugnant.
