Credit where it's due

You're probably aware of the New Jersey governor's endorsement decision. James Wolcott weighs in, calling it "significant and cannily timed."
By endorsing Romney now, while still basking in the heat wattage of his recently wildly overcovered press conference announcing his non-candidate status, Christie maximized the drama value of his endorsement. He has made himself the Solidifier. Had he waited and endorsed months later into the campaign, Christie wouldn't have had the booster-shot impact he's having today, especially with the televised Republican debate on tap tonight.
Speaking of the debate, see the liveblog here, reactions here.
