I don't know if you've been following
this website. It's published by McSweeney's, and in response to the general lack of enthusiasm on the Left for Obama gives one reason each day to "restart the fire" and re-elect the president. Today's reason was from
David Lynch; others have included
Roger Ebert and
Jesse Eisenberg. Though I don't think, of course, that this will be enough to rekindle the fire of 2008, it might go some way to actually convincing people that this election is really important.
At the moment it's as though an electorate needs to have spent eight years in hell in order to appreciate the gravity of a decision like this. Have ordinary Democrats forgotten what Bush-Cheney was like already?
